Hi
It has been almost a year since I last wrote on my blog and when I was going through some of my personal stuff recently I decided it was time to write something down. Lately with university and work and all that, it has been a little time consuming. Understatement but yeah whatever. I went back home last December for a couple of months. It was amazing on the whole with a few sucky bits here and there. But that's what life is all about. There's always that little bit of burnt toast on your almost perfect sandwich.
I've got about 3 more semesters to go before I am done with university (or am I?). I've got to think about doing honors and further studies but I'll dwell more on that when the time comes. I've got back into playing soccer this semester more than I did the whole of last year which has been, by far, on of the best parts of this year. Soccer ftw :)
I have also been writing music again after a gap of what's been about a year or a little over I think. My style of writing and making music has changed quite a bit. I guess I have matured (to an extent) to write music that actually pleases me and expresses what I really feel. With respect to the music that I listen to I still love metal but I can sense that I am inclined more towards blues indie stuff now. Still, it's everything except senseless music where the rhythm is monotonous and the lyrics are pure crap references being bitches and cars and clubs and friday and basically just pure trash.
My music is under the name '3 circle window' on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/user/1nikhil2?feature=mhum) as well as on reverbnation (http://www.reverbnation.com/3circlewindow) or even on this blog (just up the top. the videos are down at the bottom). I've got more on the way :) feel free to share :)
'We drive home' is lyrically simple but I wrote it after I got back to Australia from India. I had a few fallouts there and I saw how much I had changed as a person in the 2 years away from home. That is what drove me to write the song (that wasn't deliberate).
The second song, which I should have up soon, I wrote for a friend. The song is basically descriptive of the sort of person she is. It is a happy feel good song and I really hope Emma likes it :)
The third song that I am working on is for my mother. My grandpa died a few years ago now. My grandma passed away last year. I am writing the lyrics in terms of what my grandpa would say to mum if he could talk to her now and let her know that he'll always be there for her. I want it to sound amazing and that's why I think I'll take my time with this one till I get it right.
Alright so that has been an update of what I've been upto these past few months. What have you been upto? :)
